Human Scale Education
Human scale education is about recognising that children are human beings, and not products in a factory. At The Mother magazine we recognise that by creating small scale learning situations, children will feel valued. Their needs will be met and encouraged, whether those needs are physical, moral, spiritual, creative or intellectual. Whether education occurs in a more formal setting, or at home, human scale education is specific to the individual child’s experience. The child learns ‘in community’, whether that is family or local community, and these breathe life into the child’s education.
At The Mother magazine we endorse the best of home education, Steiner Waldorf schools, Montessori schools, Indigo schools and Forest schools.
